Galaxy Saver™ Bird Feeder

The Galaxy Saver™ started in 2015 as Robbie’s 2nd grade project.  The assignment was to invent a product that used recycled materials.  A plastic bottle, a metal bottle cap, a shoelace, and a pencil were perfectly meshed to create the “Galaxy Saver”  - which would not only save the planet, but the entire galaxy!

Five years later, the Galaxy Saver™ was still drawing birds into our yard, and the boys thought...maybe it’s time to share this great bird feeder with more people.

After some design “industrialization” help from Dad, the Galaxy Saver™ was ready for production!

Each Galaxy Saver™ is made by us in our garage in Southern California (with some help from Dad) .

We have been using machine tools since we were pretty young.  It’s in our blood.  Our great-great-grandfather, Adolf Schumann was a precision machinist and industrialist in Germany the 1800s, and we’re the 5th generation to follow his credo, “Grow first in Quality.”

Our dad has also helped us learn the importance of safety when we work with tools - take a look...we’re always wearing safety equipment and are being very careful!  

We have had a Galaxy Saver™ in our yard for over seven years now, and the birds love it!  

They will eat a full Galaxy Saver™ of seeds in about two weeks.  It’s easy to refill; just remove the top and pour in more seeds!

Our German shepherd, Mitzi, also loves the Galaxy Saver™ because the birds provide her with endless entertainment...and even with Mitzi standing guard, the birds keep coming back!
